Common Sense Media Education

Digital Citizenship

The commonsense digital citizenship curriculum used by MCPS extends to all grades, K-5, to help students stay safe online and be aware of the impact of their online actions.  Students in all grades have been learning how to stay safe on the Internet and how to protect their identity.  Commonsense media lessons will continue this year in the Media Center for all students. Family Activity and/or Tip Sheets will be sent home with students after they have engaged in a Commonsense media lesson in the media center. Be on the lookout for these!

There is also a separate branch of commonsense media designed for parents, dedicated to providing media reviews (books, movies, websites, and apps) and age appropriate guidelines.  Please, check out the Parent site for more great information and resources for at home use!
