All students that qualify for free or reduced-price school meals are eligible for approximately $114 a month in new P-EBT benefits for food, similar to SNAP.

The new P-EBT program, or Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer, will provide benefits on a debit-style EBT card to help families purchase food while schools are closed.

To participate in this new program, make sure that your student(s) are signed-up for free or reduced-price school meals or SNAP.

You can apply for free or reduced-price school meals now by filling out a school meal benefit application at www.myschoolapps.com, or by calling 301-284-4900, regardless of immigration status. Information is not shared with the federal government.

SNAP provides benefits on a debit-style card to support families in purchasing food. If you think you may be eligible, we encourage you to apply for SNAP. The best way to apply for SNAP is to go online at mydhrbenefits.dhr.state.md.us and “create account.”

Families eligible for P-EBT and enrolled in SNAP will automatically receive the additional P-EBT benefits on their SNAP card. Other families that are eligible for P-EBT and enrolled in free or reduced-price school meals will receive a new P-EBT card in the mail.
