CollegeTracks helps students navigate the college application and financial aid process and supports students as they pursue postsecondary education and career pathways.
CollegeTracks primarily supports first-generation college students and students from low-income and immigrant households.

Through Dual Enrollment, high school students can take college-level courses at Montgomery College or at their high school during their junior and/or senior year. Participating in Dual Enrollment allows students to:
Earn transferrable college credit
Experience college-level coursework
Develop time-management and other essential skills
Build confidence as they prepare for life after high school

Internship Program
The BCC Internship Program provides students with unpaid, career-focused experiences that allow them to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment related to their career interests.
Internship preparation begins during 11th grade, when students receive guidance on how to identify and secure an internship
Students are encouraged to complete an internship before 12th grade
Students must have an internship secured in order to participate in the senior internship class

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program
The IB Diploma Programme prepares students for success in higher education and encourages them to become active participants in a global society.

IB Middle Years Programme (MYP)
The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) is designed for students in 9th and 10th grade at BCC. The program provides a challenging and comprehensive curriculum that combines academic learning, life, skills, and the MCPS Instructional Guides.

MCPS Resources focused on Future Planning
Thomas Edison High School of Technology is unique among Montgomery County public high schools. MCPS students can apply to enroll in one of 16 highly acclaimed Career and Technology Education (CTE) programs.
Part-time program students attend Edison every day for three class periods and earn 1.5 credits per semester. Transportation is provided.
Many programs offer valuable professional certifications and licenses, and some are articulated with colleges and universities for college credit.
Applications open in October of sophomore year, and programs can be competitive.

Early College
The MCPS and Montgomery College Early College programs give qualified students the opportunity to earn an Associate's Degree in a specific content area while completing high school.
Students spend 9th and 10th grade at BCC and then attend Montgomery College full-time during 11th and 12th grade.
Students graduate with both a Maryland high school diploma and an Associate's Degree from Montgomery College.
Registration opens in the fall, and students apply during their sophomore year.

Summer RISE
Summer RISE (Reimagining an Innovative Student Experience) connects rising MCPS juniors and seniors with businesses, government agencies, colleges, and nonprofit organizations for career-based learning experiences.
Students participate in hands-on experiences related to their career interests and get a chance to explore what it's actually like to work in a particular field.
The program runs for five weeks, from the end of June through the end of July.

Work-Based Learning
Work Based learning in MCPS is any employment experience paid or unpaid that results in high school credit or CTE program completion. Work Based Learning includes:

MCPS organizes careers into 11 clusters. These clusters include:

Career clusters can help you explore different fields and identify programs of study and high school courses that align with your interests and future goals. Use the high school plans to see which courses can help prepare you for your desired career or postsecondary pathway.
Student Service Learning (SSL) Hours
SSL is a great way to explore careers, develop new skills, and figure out what types of work you enjoy. Students need 75 SSL hours to graduate.
Look for volunteer opportunities through the Mongomery County Volunteer Center.
Remember to submit your hours using the SSL Verification Form.
