This is a High School Credit Course.
This high school course is for Grade 8 students who are concurrently taking Algebra I and is part of the PLTW Engineering Pathway. This course develops students’ problem-solving skills, with emphasis on visualization and communication skills, using a computer and 3-D solid modeling software. This course emphasizes the development of a design using computer software to produce, analyze, and evaluate models of projects and solutions. Students will study the design concepts of form and function and then use state-of-the-art technology to translate conceptual design into reproducible products. Engineering

Students will complete a language assessment for placement in either Spanish for Spanish Speakers I or Spanish for Spanish Speakers II.
Spanish for Spanish Speakers courses provides language instruction for students with some proficiency in Spanish, either because it is their first language or it is spoken in their home. Each course integrates history, culture, language, and connections related to the Spanish-speaking world. *Students must complete a language assessment for placement in this course.

Theatre
This course is designed for students with a year of experience or more in Theatre, and promotes enjoyment and appreciation for all aspects of theatre through opportunities to build significantly on existing skills. Classwork focuses on characterization, playwriting, and playwrights’ contributions to theatre; while improvisation, creative dramatics, and scene work are used to help students challenge and strengthen their acting skills and explore the technical aspect of scene work.
