NRCC Application/ Enrollment Procedures
Meet with your Career Coach:
Complete the Senior ACCE Interest Form if you plan to apply to NRCC

If you’re unsure about what you might study in college or do after college
Complete the on-line NRCC admissions application
If you have taken a dual enrollment class while at BHS, you already have an application on file with NRCC and will need to RESET YOUR PASSWORD (see Mrs. Webster if you need your NRCC ID and/or username)
Complete the Program of Study Change Form (you must be placed in a curriculum in order for your FAFSA to be processed)
Call the admissions office at 674-3603 to ensure your SSN is on file (required in order to process the FAFSA)
If you have not taken a dual enrollment class, visit www.nr.edu and click the "Apply" button at the top of the page
You will first create an account as a "New User" to start the NRCC application process
After creating your account, click on "Apply" on the top right-hand corner of the page, scroll down the page and click on "New River Community College" and click "Apply"
Complete all steps of the application and submit
Your NRCC student ID number (also referred to as EMPL ID or SIS ID) and your NRCC email (your NRCC username is the first part of your email address) will be displayed - Record this information for future reference
Complete the ACCE application
Visit www.nr.edu/acce
Application opens October 1 and due Feb. 1 for ACCE eligibility
Students need their NRCC student number and NRCC email in order to complete the ACCE application
Email is "username@email.vccs.edu"

Students will immediately receive an email after the ACCE application is submitted
Complete the FAFSA
Application opens October 1 and due Feb. 1 for ACCE eligibility
Submit all additional required documentation to NRCC's Financial Aid Office (if applicable) - DUE March 15
The Financial Aid office will begin processing FAFSAs in mid-December
After your FAFSA is processed, you may be selected by the federal government for verification, meaning, you must turn in additional documentation. All documentation is due to NRCC's financial aid office by March 15th.
All Financial Aid information will be communicated to you through your NRCC account in SIS (Student Information System) - See the Log-In Instructions page for written instructions and videos to help you access your NRCC account.

See Financial Aid website for reputable scholarship search sites and application tips
Check the BHS Scholarship Site often
NRCC Education Foundation Scholarship - www.nr.edu/sa (usually opens in January)
$1,500 scholarship
Students cannot receive both ACCE and an Educational Foundation Scholarship; however,
If your student will receive the full Pell Grant (based on the FAFSA), the student will not need ACCE money; therefore, should apply for the Educational Foundation Scholarship
Register for NRCC classes in April
This will happen at BHS in mid April
You will have your fall schedule of classes in-hand
