Gifted Education

Intellectually gifted students require higher-level, complex, and accelerated instruction in order to experience continuous learning and academic growth. Gifted children learn faster and with greater emphasis on abstract thought. They need appropriate interactions and flexible pacing to explore concepts in-depth. They should be afforded an opportunity to explore learning, master content, and develop capabilities to maximize their potentials. Our program for gifted learners, Learning Enrichment and Acceleration Program (LEAP), includes the following service options and opportunities:

  • Differentiated Classroom Instruction

  • PLUS Classes

  • Accelerated Learning

  • Tiered Lessons/ Compacting

  • Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School

  • College Scholars Program

  • National Geography Bee

  • Summer Residential Governor’s School

  • Dual Enrollment Classes

  • After-school Enrichment

  • Odyssey of the Mind

  • Visual Arts Program

  • Summer Regional Governor’s School
