Dr. Mark Shirey is a successful businessman, a loving father, and a strong lifelong conservative republican. He is a native of Dekalb County but moved to Mobile two decades ago with his wife. Together, they raised a daughter and operated a successful single Doctor Optometry practice in West Mobile for the past 20 years. 

Dr. Shirey is a University of Alabama Birmingham graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Over the years, Dr. Shirey has received numerous awards and recognitions in Optometry. 

For the past 20 years, he has provided his community and patients with access to quality eye care. As an optometrist, he understands the importance of service and cares for others. He has always been an active member of Republican politics. As the past president of the Alabama Optometric Association, he worked closely with leaders in the state. He helped write legislation providing greater eye care access for all Alabamians.
