2001: our German Exchange with the Alfred Wegener Schule in the state of Hessen (central Germany) began. The German partners came here first and our McKinnon students made the return journey to Hessen later, under the supervision of Mr Nutting and a teacher from Mill Park SC.
2001: a group of McKinnon SC students, under the supervision of Ms Antal, Mrs Taylor, Ms Rendell and Mr Barry, went on a study trip to New Caledonia, though this was not an exchange of students as such. Further trips to New Caledonia have taken place since then.
2006: our French Exchange with the Centre International de Valbonne in the south-east of France began - the McKinnon group travelled to France under the supervision of Ms Antal and a teacher from Elwood College.
2019: our last exchanges before COVID
2023: we had our first visit from College de Tuband in Noumea.
2024: the first post-COVID exchange with the Alfred Wegener Schule took place.
2026:
German students will be visiting our sister school in Germany
Year 9 French students will visit New Caledonia in September. They will pay a visit to College de Tuband during their stay.
To replace the sister school exchanges in France and Spain, two-week trips to those countries, incorporating host family stays organised by language schools, will take place in 2026.
