Interpersonal Effectiveness
Data gathered from the needs assessment confirmed that there was a need to review and teach kindness.
(Teachers were asked to what degree they feel their students are in need of services to address how to be kind to others).
Post data from teachers indicated the effectiveness of the lesson when asked how helpful the lesson was. Teachers were abe to rate from 1 (not helpful) to 5 (very helpful).
Working with Stakeholders
The support and involvement from our stakeholders at Caldwell is like no other. Our stakeholders include parents, staff, administration and the community. Ms. Mercado's collaboration with stakeholders is what drives her counseling program as each stakeholder plays a major role in the success we have at Caldwell. One of the content areas in our program curriculum from the Texas Model is post-secondary planning and career readiness. Administrators, teachers and parents supported this content area by collaborating to plan our first Career Day at Caldwell for fourth and fifth grade students. Community members that presented during Career Day supported this content area by inspiring our students to think about their future careers and goals.
