Guidance Curriculum Highlight
Guidance lessons that are planned out for the school year are specifically created to target the needs of our students based on data gathered from our needs assessments. In order to determine whether the lessons were effective was through lesson feedback from teachers. Lesson feedback forms were sent to teachers after visiting a classroom for guidance. Data gathered from these forms helped the counselor determine how effective the lesson was. During the month of December we discussed personal safety and teachers were able to rate the lesson and share what was successful and suggestions for improvement. The feedback from teachers guided the counselor to implement lessons that are intentional and effective.
During this lesson students rotated to different stations where they had to collaborate with peers to sort out safe or unsafe scenarios. They also made of a list of 5 adults at school and at home that they can trust.
