When students have developed some confidence with identifying initial phonemes, move to working with final phonemes. Identifying medial phonemes is more complex.
Many of the activities from "Initial Phonemes" can be utilized with medial and final sounds.
Who doesn't love a good bingo dabber activity? Make a simple gameboard with pictures and have students "dab" the ones that end with the targeted sound.
Use oversized foam dice (I found them at the dollar store). Attach pictures to the dice that have two different final sounds. Have students roll a sound. Using a second set of the same pictures on the dice, have students sort the pictures by ending sound.
