Digital Feis is a great way to get extra feed back on your dancing, and it is always a good idea for your instructors and yourself to see your dancing through eyes of someone else, for a fresh or different perspective. I do not believe that it is a replacement for what an actual Irish dance competition can provide. There is no better way to push you out of your comfort level and inspire you to dance your very best than by dancing at a competition, live, in person with qualified CRN adjudicators and other competitors dancing right next to you.
Participation affects your standing in levels and dances at CRN competitions, therefore you must follow these rules regarding Digital Feis. Failure to do so could result in you becoming exempt from participating in any other competitions
You must obtain Shelagh McGovern's permission to participate in any Digital Feis, (this also goes for Non CRN/Open Platform Feis or CRN feis)
You may only participate in 2 Digital Feis per year (unless CRN sanctioned) You must participate in at least 3 LIVE feisanna (includes Regionals and or Nationals) as well
Only dancers in Bun Grad/Level 1 and Ullmhuchan/Level 2 may participate in Digital Feis
Occasionally there will be CRN Sanctioned Digital Feis, adjudicated by CRN adjudicators, when this happens ALL levels may participate
Videos must be done at studios (unless there is a lockdown or other special circumstances) If there are special circumstances your videos must be sent to Shelagh for entry.
These guidelines are MID specific. Other organizations and schools may have different rules or ways of looking at Digital Feis.
