The counselors at Leonelo H. Gonzalez advocate for students and promote social-emotional well-being, running Grizzly Leadership Team "Kids Connect" for upper grades and "Friends R Us" for lower grades. These programs aim to nurture positive relationships and develop empathy, understanding, and emotional intelligence skills among students.
The counselors at Gonzalez School, in collaboration with stakeholders, are committed to cultivating an inclusive community through a comprehensive Grizzly Leadership Team tailored to enrich student excellence in academic, social, and emotional domains.
The counselors at Gonzalez Elementary provide every child with the best education possible through guidance lessons, small group counseling, and individual sessions. Our comprehensive guidance program equips our Grizzlies with academic, career, technology, and emotional intelligence skills needed to navigate the world as productive citizens in a global society. The Gonzalez Elementary Counselors collaborate with parents, teachers, and community stakeholders to ensure each student reaches their highest potential.
At Gonzalez Elementary, school counselors play a key leadership role by aligning goals with the vision for student success. As we begin with the end in mind, counselors also provide professional development to the campus staff regarding the Social Emotional Learning framework our district supports and promote positive behavioral intervention strategies to enhance the framework. They collaborate with the campus advisory council to review academic data, provide professional development to staff, and promote positive behavioral intervention strategies. Other training is also conducted to inform and engage faculty on the efforts of the team and the counseling guidance program as it progresses.
