An Infographic is a relatively new way of presenting a complex series or large amount of information to readers that uses images, numbers and text. These Infographics are often used to explain issues such as climate change, COVID - 19 or how to spot fake news. When creating an Infographic, there are many useful templates on applications like Canva or they can be created using Google Slides.
Include a title that explains the content or purpose of the infographic
Uses words or short phrases that act as headings for each section
Includes technical or subject specific language
Designed to inform through text, images and statistics
An effective Infographic has three components:
Headline or banner to inform readers about the overall subject of the Infographic
Titles and graphics including graphs, diagrams and pictures
Small chunks of text which are big enought to read easily
In the example below the student has been asked to create an infographic around the issue of recycling plastic in Australia.
