We are excited to welcome the community back to the Martinsburg Public Library with a Ribbon Cutting and Opening Day Celebration on February 19 from 11 AM to 1 PM, hosted by MBCPL and the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library. This special event will mark an important milestone and offer neighbors a chance to reconnect, celebrate, and enjoy time together in the library.

The celebration will include a ribbon cutting (outside), a light reception, and family-friendly activities such as Story Time in the Children’s Library and a button making activity hosted by the Friends.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the library throughout this transition. Your encouragement and involvement help keep the library strong, welcoming, and at the heart of our community.

The Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library is a volunteer-led nonprofit that works closely with the Martinsburg–Berkeley County Public Libraries (MBCPL) to support and strengthen local library services. While we operate under MBCPL’s nonprofit status, we are a separate organization with our own leadership and structure. Our role is to raise funds, grow community awareness, and help expand programs and activities that make the library a vibrant resource for everyone in Martinsburg and Berkeley County.
