Intro to Gardening Workshop at the Martinsburg Public Library
Ready to start your own vegetable garden? Join us at the Martinsburg Public Library for a free Intro to Gardening workshop led by the knowledgeable WVU Extension Master Gardeners on Saturday, March 21st!
Whether you are brand new to gardening or just need a refresher, this hands-on session will cover the basics of starting a new vegetable garden and help you dig in with confidence. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn something new, connect with fellow community members, and get ready for spring right here at your library.
Spring Members Meeting, Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library
Join the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library for our Spring Members Meeting at the newly reopened Downtown Martinsburg Library on Thursday, March 26th!
This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow Friends, hear updates on everything we have accomplished together, and help shape what is ahead for our library community in this exciting 100th anniversary year. Whether you are a longtime member or just joined, we would love to have you at the table.
Join the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library as we celebrate community and library pride at the biggest St. Patrick's Day Festival in West Virginia, hosted by Main Street Martinsburg in Downtown Martinsburg on March 14th!
We'll be set up in the MBCPL Plaza with our banner and table, greeting visitors, sharing info about the Friends and the Library, and connecting with neighbors in the heart of Martinsburg. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow library supporters and help welcome new members into our growing community.
Join MBCPL and the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library as we welcome the community back for a special Ribbon Cutting and Opening Day Celebration on Wednesday, February 19 from 11 AM to 1 PM.
The event will begin with a ribbon cutting, followed by a light reception and time to reconnect in the library. After the reception, families are invited to enjoy Story Time in the Children’s Library and a Button Making Activity hosted by the Friends.
Whether you’ve been counting down the days or are stopping by to see what’s new, we’d love to celebrate this milestone with you. Come for the ribbon cutting and stay for the creativity and community connection.

Come celebrate the season with the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library during Christmas on Main, happening Saturday, December 6 from 11 AM to 3 PM at MPL Plaza. We’ll be there with cheerful smiles, library-themed goodies, and information about how you can support your local library through the Friends!

Fall Library Plaza Cleanup

Help us get the Library Plaza ready for fall! Join the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library for a morning of light outdoor cleanup as we rake leaves, pull weeds, and pick up litter around the plaza.
Please bring your own water bottle and gardening gloves, and wear clothes that can get dirty. Whether you can stay for 20 minutes or the full two hours, we’ll find a task for you. Every helping hand makes a difference!
Calling all Members! Join The Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library for a special outreach opportunity at Pride in the Park, hosted by Berkeley County Pride of WV. This free, family-friendly event celebrates inclusion and community, values we share as library supporters.
We’ll be staffing a Friends table to connect with attendees, share our mission, and encourage new members to get involved. Volunteers will help greet visitors, distribute materials, and spread the word about how we support MBCPL.
