We Need Trucks!
Pollinator Plant Pickup Day
Join the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library as we pick up the native pollinator plants for our new library garden! We are looking for Friends members with trucks or large vehicles to help transport the plants to the Martinsburg Public Library plaza ahead of Planting Day on May 16th.
🚛 This is a quick but important volunteer opportunity that helps make our pollinator garden possible. If you have a truck or large vehicle and want to be part of this special project, we would love your help!

Join the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library as we plant our beautiful new native pollinator garden in the front plaza of the Martinsburg Public Library! Made possible by a grant from The Monarch Alliance, a program of the Potomac Valley Audubon Society, this garden will support our local ecosystem and bring color, life, and learning to our library community for years to come.
🦋 No gardening experience needed, just bring your enthusiasm and your love for our library! This is a wonderful opportunity to get your hands in the dirt and help create something truly special for Martinsburg.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved, work alongside fellow Friends members, and help create something truly special for our library community.

Come celebrate Earth Day with us in the Martinsburg Public Library Plaza on Saturday, April 25th! 🌎
FOMPL Members will be set up from 10 AM to 1 PM with books from our Friends book sale!
Eastern Panhandle Policies Over Parties (EPPOP) will be hosting a Container Gardening Mini-Workshop from 11 AM to 1 PM where neighbors can learn to plant vegetables or flowers in containers. 🌱

Ready to start your own vegetable garden? Join us at the Martinsburg Public Library for a free Intro to Gardening workshop led by the knowledgeable WVU Extension Master Gardeners on Saturday, March 21st!
Whether you are brand new to gardening or just need a refresher, this hands-on session will cover the basics of starting a new vegetable garden and help you dig in with confidence. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn something new, connect with fellow community members, and get ready for spring right here at your library.

Ribbon Cutting and Opening Day Celebration
Join MBCPL and the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library as we welcome the community back for a special Ribbon Cutting and Opening Day Celebration on Wednesday, February 19 from 11 AM to 1 PM.
The event will begin with a ribbon cutting, followed by a light reception and time to reconnect in the library. After the reception, families are invited to enjoy Story Time in the Children’s Library and a Button Making Activity hosted by the Friends.
Whether you’ve been counting down the days or are stopping by to see what’s new, we’d love to celebrate this milestone with you. Come for the ribbon cutting and stay for the creativity and community connection.

Help us get the Library Plaza ready for fall! Join the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library for a morning of light outdoor cleanup as we rake leaves, pull weeds, and pick up litter around the plaza.
Please bring your own water bottle and gardening gloves, and wear clothes that can get dirty. Whether you can stay for 20 minutes or the full two hours, we’ll find a task for you. Every helping hand makes a difference!

Calling all Members! Join The Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library for a special outreach opportunity at Pride in the Park, hosted by Berkeley County Pride of WV. This free, family-friendly event celebrates inclusion and community, values we share as library supporters.
We’ll be staffing a Friends table to connect with attendees, share our mission, and encourage new members to get involved. Volunteers will help greet visitors, distribute materials, and spread the word about how we support MBCPL.
