To upload evidence:
Once you’ve entered your PL, select Upload evidence from the drop-down menu options, the the upload window will appear on your PL activities page.
Click on live link (in blue) “Document (0)” on PL page.
Click Add (not Upload yet) to be able to Browse your files and select the document you need.
Then, click on the Upload button (once you’ve selected the document to upload)
The link will now have “Document (1)” to show that there is a document there.
If this doesn’t make sense, get help from your building rep.
Keep in Mind:
Submit only PL required for relicensure. The LSB does not need to see every PL activity you’ve done during this relicensing cycle.
Level II: 90 hours (30/60)
Level I, whether renewing or transitioning Level I to Level II: 45 hrs (15/30)
Retire: 45 hrs within the last three (3) years
NB: You must move from Level I to Level II, i.e. transition, if you have taught for 3 years in Vermont in the renewing endorsement.
Reminder for PL activities:
1) one third (⅓) must be specific to your endorsement, the Content Standard
2) they must connect to at least one other of the four Core Teaching Standards
3) they must be new learning
* All Level I licenses require 45 hours/3 credits total PL, with 15 hours/1 credit specific to the knowledge/performance standards of the endorsement being renewed.
** All Level II licenses require 90 hours/6 credits total PL, with 30 hours/2 credits specific to the knowledge/performance standards of the endorsement being renewed.
Once PL is entered:
Click Send to LSB when you are ready to have LSB review your PL activities.
You can do this before the renewals are officially released by the AOE without having the make a payment of any kind.
Remember: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR LSB AS RECIPIENT OF YOUR PL, YOU HAVE NOT FILLED IN THE EMPLOYMENT DETAILS SECTION CORRECTLY. GO BACK AND DO THIS.
If the renewals have been released by the AOE:
You’ll be prompted to pay a $50.00 application fee. Once this is paid: the ANESU/LSB receives your PL activities in its queue, completes review and, providing there are no problems, submits to AOE, and finally notifies you that LSB has complete its review and that your next step is to log back in to ALiS.Educator logs back into ALiS and finishes on-line application
(legal forms, criminal record check, etc.)
AOE will review all documentation, and notify educator of final approval, and
prompt for balance due - 5 yr license, $250; 3 yr. license, $150, i.e. $50.00/yr.
Once full payment is made, AOE/ALiS system sends final email to the educator
that license has been renewed successfully and educator can print copy.
Educator gives copy of new license to district HR (Attn: BobbiJo Connor)
Reminders:
As of 2015 renewals, all new Level II licenses will be issued for 5
years, requiring 90 hours/6 credits total PL, with 30 hours/2 credits specific to
the knowledge/performance standards of the endorsement being renewed.
