Your professional development activities must align with one of your IPDP goals in order to be given for credit to renewal.
If you need help uploading a PD activity to K12PD tracker, click here for a tutorial.
Professional development activities that can be used for renewal are: activities that are used to meet local district inservice requirements, workshops, college courses, mentoring, being a member of an advisory or curriculum committee, grant writing, peer observation, presentations, teaching a college course, education projects, travel, publishing an education article or book, being a cooperating teacher, and any other independent project that increases your educational skills.
You need a total of 180 contact hours, or 18 CEUs, to renew your teaching certificate/license.
The LPDC committee suggests that an educator try to have a variety of professional development activities when renewing their license.
Professional development logs can be used to log hours.
An example is below. If you wish to use it, please open the sheet and make a copy.
Activity verification forms can be used to request professional development that varies from coursework and workshops.
Please make a copy of the doc below.
