Welcome to
8th Grade!
Lord, I pray that this year, my kids will experience the peace of God that exceeds all understanding. I pray they will not worry about things they cannot control, but that You will guard their hearts and minds and keep them trusting in You. I pray they will not only enjoy the peace of God, but peace with God. I pray they will develop a spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving as they look to You daily for their needs. I pray that You will let them experience the joy that bubbles up from Your peace, and that You place in them the desire to bring Your peace, and joy, to those around them. In Jesus' beautiful Name I pray this for my students. Amen.

My Incredibly Lucky Day...
What a terrible day, I have to walk in the rain all the way to school. I’m getting wet and my umbrella is barely covering me. But something caught my eye. There’s a bright green, glowing, four leaf clover on the sidewalk. I picked it up and immediately, the rain stopped. The sun peeked out behind the clouds and the grass was glowing, glistening even. I decided to keep the clover in my pocket as I walked to school. On my way, there was an ice cream trunk giving out free ice cream. A tasty treat on the way to school, yes please! Once I got to school, there was a sign on the door. “No school today due to a bug infestation”. Well, it looks like I'm having a fun day. So, I walked to the park and it turned out there was a dog festival. For the whole day, I played with cute dogs. Once it got dark outside, I made my way back home and my parents were waiting for me with my favorite dinner. I hoped this day would never end. But when I woke up the next morning, rain again. Let’s hope I stumble upon another four leaf clover.

A GREAT DAY GONE BAD...
It was March 17, 1976 and I was nine years old and my birthday was tomorrow. I was a poor boy from West London, so this could change my life forever. On my way to school I stumbled upon a FOUR LEAF CLOVER! I immediately ran to grab and yelled to my mom I found a four leaf clover! I exclaimed with excitement. At that time, I didn't think much of it, because I was always someone who didn't believe in luck. But, since I knew they were hard to find, i decided to put it in a little baggy and bring it to school. Little did know it would change my life forever. As I entered school my friend named Shejdie just randomly gave me 5 bucks. I was surprised, but continued to move on with my day. But things only got luckier. I hadn't shown them my findings, but they were talking about the massive lottery. I was a below average student, but I got a 100 on my math test. This was a shock to the whole grade. My teacher also gave me the star of the day so I got a piece of candy. I felt lucky so I bought a lottery ticket for 3 pounds that I stole from my mum. As they were announcing it on the news, my number was 68546789034. As they read the number my heart dropped the announcer said 6854678903 I stood up thinking it had to be me, but as I jumped, I dropped the Four leaf clover and the final number said was 5 instead of 4. I laid on the floor devastated by what I had done. The best day of my life turned into the worst. The End.

My Incredibly Lucky Day...
I woke up, and right away I was in a good mood, because I could smell something so delicious that it made my mouth water. I got out of bed, did my morning routine, and went downstairs to see deliciously smelling waffles with chocolate and berries on top. Then I glanced at the calendar to see that it's a saturday in may. Which means sunny outside. I was done with my food and wanted to wash my dishes, until I almost dropped my plate and it broke, but then I somehow caught it with my other hand right before it was about to hit the floor. Then me and my friend were supposed to hangout, I was SO EXCITED! I haven't seen her for 3 months. As i was about to leave the house, i almost fell down the stairs, but i didn’t, i caught the wall and somehow managed to get my balance back. After I came back home, I really wanted to take a shower so I did. Until i was about to slip on the body wash that was on the bathtub floor, but it's like something saved me, i dont know what it was but i didnt slip. As I was about to go to bed, I was thinking about my day. And I thought “oof, it's my lucky day today!” and with these thoughts i fell asleep…
