SmarterProctoring is an online test proctoring tool that helps faculty secure and deliver high-stakes Blackboard exams. Faculty can customize a proctored session with options for recording the student, locking down the browser, and verifying student identity with picture ID.

On January 5th, 2026, SmarterProctoring will release its Version 3 Update for a more stable and intuitive online proctoring experience. No service disruptions or major changes in core testing functions are expected.

Review and share the Student Instructions. This tool works slightly different from the student perspective in an Ultra Course. At this time, SmarterProctoring will take the student to the Ultra course, where the student will navigate to the test and click the "Inject Password" button to open the test.
