Every year, we as a community here at MaST III participate in a program called the Kids Heart Challenge
This challenge allows students/parents to become "Heart Heroes" with donating money to those who have "sick hearts." All proceeds go to the American Heart Association.
KHC prepares elementary students for success by supporting their physical and emotional well-being with essential resources for educators.
The Kids Heart Challenge is a service-learning program from the American Heart Association that helps students learn about healthy living and raise funds for heart health. The program includes:
Activities: Fun activities for students to get moving, such as basketball, jump rope, and obstacle courses
Educational modules: Curriculum modules that teach students about heart health, personal and social responsibility, and healthy eating
Life skills: Lessons on how to make smart food choices, avoid vaping and tobacco, and perform Hands-Only CPR
Family engagement: Ideas for engaging families in the program
Communication starters: Resources to help faculty and parents address concerns about teen vaping and smoking
Volunteer opportunities: Students can become Heart Heroes and raise funds for heart health
Finn's Mission: Students can learn Hands-Only CPR and raise donations by completing Finn's Mission
