Seniors! Service Event credit needs to be completed by the end of April in order to receive your Honor Cords!
At the end of Spring Break, many of our NHS members met at Traz Powell stadium to celebrate and support athletes participating in the 2023 Special Olympics Track and Field events.
During Spring Break, a group of our Seniors gave their time to help the our fellow community members that needed a little food security. By inspecting, sorting, and packing donated food items, they were able to process over 9,000 lbs of food and help many within the local South Florida community.
Students wrote and designed heartfelt cards to send to older adults who are at risk for this Valentines Day. to give to our local Veterans for Veteran's Day.
Students worked on different projects helping transcribe documents for a minimum of 2 hours for a service event credit.
On January 21st, members of NHS worked together along the Oleta staff to clean up the butterfly garden and the beach.
On December 19th, the NHS board, current members, and a guest speaker gathered together to welcome the new members of the club!
On December 3rd, members of NHS worked together along the Oleta staff to clean up the park trails after the damage Hurricane Ian left.
Members donated food for those who are experiencing food insecurity for this thanksgiving.
Members wrote and designed cards to give to our local Veterans for Veteran's Day.

NHS members participated in supporting the Special Olympics at Traz Powell Stadium at MDC North. Members worked directly with participants, helped with timing, and cheered on competitors.
By answering questions correctly, NHS members contributed to combatting world-wide food insecurity, contributing thousands of grains of rice and other foods to those in need.
On September 18th, members of NHS worked together with many community members to help clean up our beautiful coastal waters at Oleta River National Park for International Coastal Clean-up Day.
Members created posters with anti-bullying messages at home and turn them in!
Members went to freerice.com and answered vocabulary questions to donate rice.
Members recorded themselves reading storybooks for kids to listen to virtually.
Members created virtual and physical letters expressing their gratitude for healthcare workers during this pandemic.
Members wrote and submitted heart-felt letters to National Guard, active duty Military, first responders and healthcare workers.
Members donated self-care products and wrapped boxes for women and girls living in women's shelters.
Members cleaned up garbage along Hollywood Beach and sorted items to be recycled.
Members picked up trash and recycled items found on the beaches bordering the city of Sunny Isles Beach.
Members created dog toys for the animals of the Humane Society of Greater Miami using recycled t-shirts.
Members helped Oleta State Park to improve their butterfly garden by removing weeds, planting new plants, and painting signs for the garden. This is a reoccurring event, and there will likely be more of these in the future.
