What you may expect while having a deep tissue/sports massage
The techniques are used to break down muscles "Knots" or adhesions ( these are the bands of painful, rigid tissue) that may disrupt circulation causing pain, as well as possibly causing limited range of motion and inflammation.
During massage our therapist will at times ask you to breathe deeply especially when working tense areas.
Light pressure is applied to start with, as we will warm up and prepare the muscles. There after we use arrange of techniques with different pressures along the length of the muscle fibres, your therapist will use his/her elbow, forearm, knuckles and or thumbs.
