VIDEO CONFERENCE ON SMARTPHONE OR TABLET
If you have signed up for parent/teacher conferences using PT Connect and selected CONFERENCE BY VIDEO for your preference, you CAN take part in the video meeting on your smartphone or tablet. How?
BEFORE THE VIDEO CONFERENCE - Intall Jitsi Meet
On your smartphone or tablet download & install the app named JITSI MEET (a very basic video meeting app similar to Zoom). Links are below to install on either iOS (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch) or Android (smartphones OTHER than iPhones, tablets OTHER than iPad).

DAYS BEFORE VIDEO CONFERENCE - Look for Reminder Emails
A few days before your scheduled conference you will start receiving reminder emails to alert you of your upcoming conference. The emails will contain links to "Join The Video Conference" that can be clicked to join in.
DATE AND TIME OF THE VIDEO CONFERENCE - Join Video Conference
On your smartphone or tablet:
1 - Open one of the Reminder Emails.
2 - Click the Join The Video Conference link / button.
3 - This will open a new window on your device. When prompted, allow the video application to have access to their microphone and camera. You will either be connected with the teacher’s video or be waiting for the teacher to join.
WHEN DONE - ACCESS ANOTHER VIDEO CONFERENCE WITH ANOTHER TEACHER
1 - Close the window / app.
2 - Re-open the reminder email and click on the Join The Video Conference link / button for the next teacher.
More than one parent can join the video. If one parent is traveling, they may be joining the meeting from a different location than their spouse. The parent may also share the video link with a former spouse, guardian, grandparent, etc. by sending the reminder email to them before conferences begin.
