Choral Handbook Form for Parents & Guardians
At the middle school, we have three curricular choirs that meet during the school day. These choirs are separated by grade level and are co-taught by Mrs. Hildebrand and Mr. Murphy. You may contact either of us if you have questions regarding chorus.
Outside the school day, there are two extra-curricular choirs that meet in the morning hours before school that students may participate in. Those groups are listed below.
Chamber Singers: under Mrs. Hildebrand. This is a non-auditioned group for any sixth grade students wanting to gain more singing experience. They meet Wednesday and Friday mornings before school.
Select Ensemble: under Mr. Murphy. This is an auditioned group for seventh and eighth grade singers. In the fall, students must complete an audition to be in consideration for the group. The audition typically entails singing "America" acapella, vocalizing for range, and pitch matching exercises. Students are scored using a rubric. Please see the Select Ensemble button below for more information.
