SHOW NOTES
The episode starts with one host talking about why basketball is the hardest sport. Then another guest chimes in and talks about why football is the hardest sport and why and another host will do the same thing with boxing. We spend the podcast comparing all the sports to each other. The basketball host talks about basketball mechanics and the fundamentals of basketball: contact on layups, contested shots, dribbling, and more. We talk about genetics and how it could affect all the people that want to play that sport. In basketball, your height also affects your position. After that we talk about football: how the defense works and why it's hard to play cornerback and predicting your route 50/50 times after watching film on you.
We also talk about IQ, and the average IQ that each sport has, and what that you’ll need to get into a college. with an IQ of somewhere near the average. We talk about defense in basketball and why it's hard since you have to transition from offense to defense immediately after a turnover or a bucket. After talking about the defenses, we discuss the sport of boxing and how you have to choose whether or not to go into offense or defense. Because too much defense could make you lose points, and while too much offense can gain you points, you can get very tired and your opponent could capitalize on that.
We also talk about the chances of getting a scholarship offer in football and basketball and discuss why they are hard to receive. We talk about playing professionally and entering the draft. We talk about why it's hard to be a professional boxer and the things you have to do. We talk about why being a leader in all sports is hard. We discuss the things you have to achieve to be great in both sports and about how hard it is. We talk about the things you have to do in both sports in order to become a leader. We talk a little bit about baseball and why people think that's the hardest sport but only a little bit.
We talk about the importance and difficulty of staying healthy in football, basketball, and boxing. We talk briefly about two other sports people consider the hardest: soccer and swimming. For example, in soccer you're always running up and down a long field similar to football but for a longer period of time with only a low scoring game. We talk a little bit about swimming because there really isn’t that much besides technique, breathing control, and how hard it is to move fast in water compared to running out of water. The end of the podcast is about comparing our sports to each other and how some skills are more important than another like football and how speed means a lot unlike basketball.
