K-5 Highlights

These 5th graders worked on "passion projects" throughout the year, culminating in a showcase to share their learning with others.

Kindergarteners created an "iPad Cave" to help block out classroom noise and improve recording with Seesaw.




5th graders worked together to solve a multi-step math problem and recorded videos on Flipgrid to explain how they solved it. Then they watched one another's videos to learn how each group approached the problem.

2nd graders used Skype to participate in the "Five Clue Challenge".

5th graders used Flipgrid to communicate with penpals in Myanmar.

Kindergartners made digital dots to participate in #DotDay.

The Tynker Club at Elmwood completed 522 projects and wrote more than 17,000 lines of code this year!

After reading about heroes, these 2nd graders used Skype to interview a firefighter.

These 2nd graders designed a math facts activity and coded Sphero to travel to the facts and say them out load. Then they created a video to share their work. (Click to watch their video in a new page.)

These second graders learned and shared about topics they wonder about during weekly Genius Hour time.
