Year 13 - 15 hour 'Exam' over 3 days - This is 3 days of working on a final piece as part of the exam unit in the Graphics
Briefs
The format of the course runs on Briefs that last between 2-4 weeks. At the beginning of every Brief, one of your teachers will give you a full run-through of the brief, explain and teach any new techniques. You will then have time to create work inspired by designers and artists for a 'Client' of your choosing, examples of this are at the bottom of the page. At the start of the year, you pick a theme to work within.

Brief One is below for you to start preparing for over the summer
During the first project you will cover a series of briefs ranging from but not limited to:
OBSERVATIONAL DRAWING AND PHOTOGRAPHY
VECTOR DESIGN
GIF/ANIMATION CREATION
ARTIST, CLIENT & DESIGNER STUDIES
TYPOGRAPHY
FILM/VIDEO EDITING
SCREEN PRINTING
You get 8 lessons every two week cycle
This subject is 100% coursework so you get out of it what you put in
We have 7 Artrooms that you can work in during the school day, 6 of them have computers loaded with the Adobe Suite, one of which is our dedicated sixth form art room, A16.
If you take 3 subjects, almost half of your school time is free periods so use them wisely.

We have the full Adobe Creative Suite available for you to use at Matthew Arnold, in addition to programs such as Blender and Davinci Resolve. You will be taught in depth how to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro within the first 2 terms.
