The Common Room
The Common Room is your designated space in the school. There is a small kitchen area with a hot water tap, fridge and microwaves. During lesson periods we expect students to use the Common Room to work quietly and then this is the place you can relax with friends and chat at break or lunchtime.
The Study Room
For the first time most students will have times during the week when they do not have a timetabled lesson. These are private study periods and should be used effectively and fully. The Study Room is opposite the Common Room with booth desks. During study periods you should be working constructively to make progress in your studies.
Additional Areas
In addition to the Common Room and Study Room you can also use the Library, restaurant area, science atrium and free classrooms. You should ensure that any noise in these areas is kept to a minimum so as not to disturb others. Mobile phones should not be used in these areas. Mobile phones can be used in the Sixth Form Centre but students should use Chromebooks when working in the Common Room - these can be signed out from the Sixth Form Admin Office.
Student Trays in Sixth Form Centre
Student trays are available in the Sixth Form Centre for the storage of inexpensive personal property. In September students should find a free tray, add their name to the label and are advised not to leave expensive items in them. The school cannot be held liable for any theft or loss that takes place.
