Itzik Klein is an Associate Professor at the University of Haifa, where he heads the Autonomous Navigation and Sensor Fusion Lab (ANSFL) and chairs the Hatter Department of Marine Technologies in the Charney School of Marine Sciences. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Aerospace Engineering (2004, 2007) and the Ph.D. degree in Geo-information Engineering (2011), all from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He is an IEEE Senior Member and an IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) Distinguished Lecturer. He serves on the editorial boards of IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, the IEEE Journal of Indoor and Seamless Positioning and Navigation, and Elsevier’s Results in Engineering, and is the founding editor for sensing and perception in automotive applications at the IEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology. His work bridges industry and academia, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence into advanced navigation systems. His peer-reviewed research on the theory and applications of inertial sensing, sensor fusion, and robotics has been published in more than 100 journal articles (h-index = 31, Google Scholar, 2026). He has presented extensively at international and national conferences and workshops, has chaired industrial and research workshops, and has received research excellence awards.
