Just wanted to let you know that student artwork are up on the following platforms:
This is a small repository of art ideas, activities, art online games and art museums for everyone:

I love this next project. I call it a Shake-A-Box. It creates Abstract Expressionistic Automatism Action Paintings. Seems like a mouthful? Totally explained in the YouTube instructional below. You'll need paint, paper, a box, small balls, and maybe a pair of scissors.
This one is silly fun. Use your imagination, look up images on Google, get the family involved...no rules on how to go about it. Here is the YouTube video with instructions and a follow along. Pause often if you need to! E-mail me any artwork!
For another perspective and those that like to read about a project rather than watch it, here's a website that goes over the basics of creating these surprising creatures: Surprise Ferocious
As always, have FUN with this! Make an animal that you like, or make a person! You can make their mouth open and close. Hatching eggs look cute too! Art can sometimes make a person feel something. So, make someone surprised!
There is also a family project on YouTube. The kids can't do this one on there own. If you have the paint, tape and canvas/board available, you might want to try it out.
So, for your first project, I call on you to create a one point perspective drawing. What's that you say? Well, you second graders better remember. I know Bill will remember. That guy made a really good one. Here's some examples of what I mean:
You can see a few similarities there.
First, you can see that there is a triangle shape for each road. The top of the triangle looks like it is far away. Check out the dotted lines in the roads. See how they get smaller and smaller.
The next thing you should pay attention to is the horizon line. Some of them are hidden. Here's a hint, go to the top of the triangle road. At the top, there is a line that goes left to right. On the road with the sunset and water, it is the line for the end of the water. On the blue mountain one, it is the line between the mountains and the green. It gets hidden behind some trees.
Finally, all of the things on the side of the roads. Everything gets smaller as it goes back.
I challenge you to make a drawing using these things. The triangle road, the horizon line, and things on the side of the road that get smaller and smaller. Have fun with it. Practice. Work out the details. If you would like to share the picture, get mom or dad to share it over Twitter and share it with me at @DemariaJason
Here is a Mr. D art video to help you along.
