Grading

Grading is posted on the front wall of the art room.

There are five grading areas that span across classroom grading, project grading and mid term/final portfolio grading.

You Were On Task

You Showed Craftsmanship (Neatness and detail)

You Followed Directions

You Met Your Objective

You Showed Creativity

Each grading area is worth 20 points. Points are distributed in five levels. Take Craftsmanship for example:

You showed excellent craftsmanship

You showed good craftsmanship

You showed fair craftsmanship

You showed poor craftsmanship

You showed unsatisfactory craftsmanship

The only change is the objective. Objectives change from project to project.

Objectives will always be posted for the students.

There will be a classroom grade every day, multiple project grades through the marking period, a mid-term portfolio grade, and a final portfolio grade. Portfolio graded objectives are based on craftsmanship, creativity, and adherence to principles and elements of design.
