Peer Educators

Teams of students from middle schools, high schools, and non-traditional (continuation) schools are trained as TUPE Peer Educators. These students deliver anti-tobacco messages at their school through classroom presentations and school-wide events. While the primary focus of the TUPE program is prevention of tobacco use, the strategies are comprehensive and include information on alcohol, marijuana and other drugs. Students build a wide variety of important and relevant skills, including effective communication, collaborative planning, public speaking, and decision making.
