About Us

After coaching for 8 years at Dassel-Cokato, Coach Larson decided to start a new program after he got a new job at Maple Lake High School and when the DC School District decided the girls could no longer compete at the highest level at Nationals.  Since starting in 2023, our program has grown to over 45 cheerleaders in the 24/25 season who participate on our Maple Lake HS football cheer team and on our K-12 competition program.  In March of 2025, our HS competition team represented the communities of Maple Lake, Dassel-Cokato and Annandale at the Varsity Quest National Competition in Orlando, Florida where they placed 8th nationally in the top division at the competition.  

For 2025-2026, Bolts Cheerleading is looking to offer a sideline football team (to Maple Lake students), a 7-12 Varsity competition/Nationals team, a 7-12 Junior Varsity competition team, and 1 to 2 elementary competition teams.

We participate in local competitions, and compete at the high school level at most competitions.  At Nationals, we will get a choice to compete at either the high school level or the recreation level (if we earn bids to go to Nationals).

We are a 100% self-funded program!
