No. Patti Rodger (patti.rodger@maplebear.ca) is responsible for making your travel arrangements. She is the one that works with Maria at Uniglobe Travel and provides her with the information that she needs to book your tickets. If for any reason you need to make alternative plans you must get approval from Jocelyn. Maria will email/call you if she has questions or needs information from you.
All trainers are booked on flights from their home city to Toronto and then on to São Paulo on the Friday night before their first day of training, with Air Canada being the most commonly used airline. The way the flights work, you will arrive in São Paulo sometime on Saturday morning. Only in special cases your flight could be on Saturday. We will let you know.
Your return flight will be booked out of São Paulo on the Saturday following your last day of training, with arrival in Canada on Sunday morning. This is so you can complete your contract obligations right through to the end of Friday and rest one more evening before leaving on the Saturday. Please do not request to leave on the Friday evening.
No. All alternate travel plans must be cleared through Patti. She is the one who will notify Maria on your behalf to make any changes.
Please let Patti know if you are bringing your partner/spouse so she can let Central Office know. It will be your responsibility to notify the school(s) well in advance of your arrival of this.
You are responsible for making and paying for these arrangements on your own and you can use Maria. If there are any additional accommodation costs, you will be responsible for paying for them. Maple Bear Central Office in São Paulo will not be making your travel arrangements within Brazil for your spouse.
A travel agency chosen by Maple Bear Central Office is responsible for booking your in-Brazil travel arrangements and sending it to you by e-mail. The procedure is that Trainers arrive in São Paulo on Saturday mornings either to begin their work in São Paulo on Monday or to connect with transportation taking Trainers to their school assignment. It is imperative that no changes to the Canada–Brazil flight are made without approval from Jocelyn who will be in communication with Maple Bear Central Office in Brazil.
Domestic flights permit you to check a 23kg luggage. Please note that if you are bringing luggage that overweighs this amount, then you will be responsible for paying the extra cost unless what you are bringing are materials/books for the school you are visiting (in which case, please give the school the receipt for baggage).
A travel agency chosen by Maple Bear Central Office is responsible for booking your accommodations for your stay and sending it to you by e-mail. The accommodations will either have restaurants or room service. Alternative arrangements in terms of meals must be previously agreed with the school. The arrangements are usually made from Saturday to Saturday, unless otherwise communicated to you.
There are three possible types of drivers: either a school driver; or a driver booked by Maple Bear Central Office for long distance rides; or a taxi that you should take by yourself. You will receive instructions telling you what to do regarding land transportation by e-mail before you travel. Be prepared to pay for taxis and you will be reimbursed afterwards by the school. Remember to always ask for and keep taxi receipts!
We suggest that you bring to Brazil, at least R$500 (reais, the local currency) for expenses like this one.
No. All alternate travel plans must be cleared through Maple Bear Central Office in Brazil. They are the ones who will contact the travel agency on your behalf if necessary changes need to be made.
You are responsible for making and paying for these arrangements on your own or you can use the Brazilian travel agency that Maple Bear Central Office is currently using. If there are any additional accommodation costs, you will be responsible for paying for them. Maple Bear Central Office in São Paulo will not be making travel arrangements within Brazil for your spouse.
If you have an overnight layover in São Paulo, you will be booked into a hotel close to the airport. For long waits in the airport between flights, trainers may check into the Fast Sleep Hotel at Guarulhos airport, pay for the room upfront, and be reimbursed by MB Canadian School Corp. in Canada by filling in the Expense Sheet provided to all Trainers from Jocelyn.
If you prefer to make a reservation in advance, the website for contacting and making a reservation at Fast Sleep Hotel is: www.fastsleep.com.br/en/o-fast-sleep.
Maple Bear Central Office does not book Fast Sleep, this should be done by the trainer when necessary.
Welcome to Brazil! The travel agency that is currently working with Maple Bear Central Office is called FlyTour.
