AVAILABLE COURSES FOR 9TH GRADE STUDENTS
The following courses can only be accessed by teacher recommendation.
Academic Skills Workshop is designed to support students with organization, time management, academics, executive functioning, and social skills. The intent of Academic Skills Workshop is to help students improve these skills and to provide foundational knowledge of how to be successful in high school and with their post-secondary plans. Students will: 1. set goals they wish to achieve; 2. work to achieve their individual goals and objectives; engage in mini lessons to enhance their academic and social skills.

Offers support services for those students who have exited the English Learner program and have been identified as a Former English Learner. Students set academic goals, receive study skills instruction, learn test-taking strategies, organizational and time management techniques, and can receive content support on core subjects.

This class is designed for students with disabilities who require supportive instruction to assist them in accessing the general curriculum. Students in this class, which is taught by a highly qualified special education teacher, utilize academic support and develop strategies to learn how to use their strengths to compensate for area(s) of difficulty or challenge, to develop self- awareness, self-advocacy, organizational skills and to gain independence in managing their academic responsibilities.

Offers instructional and support services for those students whose first language is not English and who have been identified as Limited English Proficient, Foundational level. These services focus on listening, speaking, reading and writing English, as well as providing support for the classroom curriculum in other subjects.
