As a support teacher in Smile Group, I have been observed that Avi has been holding weekly lessons on a very consistent schedule for basic English and language development. He has varying levels of intellectual and developmental disabilities, including the students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, visual disability, delayed speech etc. He can engage with these students and work with them very effectively. These students have made significant progress. The students make eye contact, participate enthusiastically, and speak without reservation; their communication has become more fluent. The classroom atmosphere is very inclusive. The lesson plans are very organized and tailored to teaching these students. He also organized games and interactive videos for students. Avi has been a true asset to the SMILE project. He is compassionate and aware of the needs of these students. It has been a delightful experience to work with him and to see our students grow and thrive with his exceptional teaching skills.
I am delighted to share some heartening news of progress and achievement within our classroom.
I must express my profound admiration for Miss Afreen, whose growth over the past year has been truly remarkable. From her strides in writing and responding to her enhanced ability in recognizing sounds and letters, Afreen's transformation is nothing short of extraordinary. Her comprehension and engagement in class activities have shown a significant leap forward, a testament to her hard work and determination.
Afreen's journey from where she was a year ago to where she stands today is a testament to her dedication and perseverance. Congratulations, Afreen, on your outstanding progress and accomplishments.
A Note from Nidhika Mam about Kaka’s growth
It has been a pleasure witnessing Kaka's growth and development over the past year. When he first joined our program, he was hesitant and struggled with basic English language skills. However, with consistent effort and guidance, he has made remarkable progress.
Kaka's reading skills have improved significantly. He can now read fluently and confidently, and even interpret the meaning of complex sentences. His newfound confidence has also allowed him to take on a leadership role, helping his peers with their reading.
I am truly impressed by his dedication and hard work. With continued practice, I am confident that he will continue to excel in his academic journey.
When Kaka first joined our program, he was quite hesitant to engage with the lessons. His English language skills, particularly reading, were limited. To address this, we started with the basics: vowels, nouns, adjectives, pronouns, and verbs. We also reinforced the concepts of singular, plural, and pronouns.
