Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs offer a sequence of courses that provides students with coherent and rigorous content. CTE content is aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in current or emerging professions.
Not CTE ( Code 4)
A student who never enrolled or did not complete any Middle School CTE courses.
CTE Participant (Code 5)
A student completing EITHER: Only one CTE course for any number of credits; OR More than one course for less than two credits.
CTE Explorer (Code E)
A student completing two or more high school CTE courses for a total of two or more credits and not a participant, concentrator or completer.
CTE Concentrator (Code 6)
A student completing and passing two or more CTE courses for a total of at least two credits within the same program of study and not a completer.
CTE Completer (Code 7)
A student completing and passing three or more CTE courses for a total of four or more credits within a program of study, including one level three or level four course from within the same program of study.

Course Description: In Foundations of User Experience (UX), students obtain an understanding of UX designers, key notions and factors involved in the conception of UX design solutions and design tools applied across the process. Students will gain knowledge of introductory observation and research skills; basic design thinking and defined empathy methodologies; collaborative problem-solving and ideation; and interaction usability and solution development (includes digital tools). The knowledge and skills acquired enable students to identify real-world problems through research and data-driven investigation to design solutions while participating in collaborative problem solving. Students are introduced to agile and methodologies to develop skills to take the solutions from conceptual sketch to digital designs using professional software tools.
