During our reading sessions this week, some of us found a map in one of the stories we were reading. We named the continents we learnt and shared this with our friends. We had some special guest in our school this week and we got to take a photo with the Premier League Trophy can you believe it?
Week 3
This week we are reading another story called "Katie in London" and we are learning about the Landmarks in London. We went to the Museum of Home to look at how homes have changed over time and even got to dress up and look at homes in the future. Towards the end of the week we went on an Autumn walk to The Memorial Park as part of our Manor Memories. It was a lovely experience and we enjoyed the weather.
Week 2
This week was Anti-Bullying week !!! So we came to school in odd socks to show our support that bullying is not tolerated anywhere. We took part in an online nation-wide assembly and we learnt what we could do if we spot an act of bullying or if it happens to us. In Art we looked at another artist called Elisabeth Blackadder and we went outside to look at colours and shapes of leaves. Then we came back to class to create a replica using water colours. We ended the week by having a Pyjama Day we all look really cute in them.
Autumn 2
Week 1
We began this term by learning a poem and we drew our own monster and wrote words around it to describe it and then we wrote our own poem titled "There's no such thing as monsters". We enjoyed writing about different types of monsters and all the things they could do.
Week 7
This week we celebrated 130 years that our school had been opened. We had a few Victorian days and we came to school dressed as the children did then. Our lessons were diffrent as we had to use a chalk board, write out sums several times and rote learn as well. It was a strange experience and we felt sorry for the children who lived during this era. We used chalk to do our work. Then we thought about what school like will look like 130 years in the future and created designs. Then we wrote letters to explain to children in the Victorian Era what school life looks like for us. We ended the term with a silent disco and a party where we got to wear party hats.
Week 6
This week again we went into the playground to record the evidence of Autumn. We focussed on how the leaves had changed. We are learning about number bonds using a part, part, whole model frame.
Week 5
This week in Science we went outside to record things we could hear and see using our senses. We created a time line of how the telephone has changed over the years. We looked at how washing of clothes has also changed as well as the equipment used to wash clothes has changed. We had the opportunity to handle Christian artefacts as part of our R.E learning.
Week 4
This term we started reading a story called Meesha makes Friends and we made our own robot friends. We took them home and tried playing with them. Unfortunately, just like the robots Meesha from our story the robots could not join in as well. We enjoyed creating these robots ourselves. We also did a noun hunt in the classroom and recorded what nouns we found.
