8th Grade SEAL
Overview of Class - Leadership
This year, our main focus has been on LEADERSHIP. Specifically, we have been asking the questions:
1 - What makes a good leader?
2 - What leadership style do I want to embody with my peers?
3 - How can we acquire wisdom, even at a young age?
Every Friday afternoon, our class meets for approximately 30 minutes to discuss different themes related to LEADERSHIP. Each week's goal is to provide a new Life Tool and/or Skill for the students to add to their "Life Tool Box". The hope is that they not only acquire the skills, but utilize them in their classrooms, relationships, and extracurricular activities.

Life Beyond MCDS - After 8th Grade
This year is a milestone for your child, and your family, as your 8th grader is entering their final academic journey at MCDS.
What will the new chapter of their life contain?
Another private school? Home school? Public School?
Make sure they (and you) are ready!
Public school (and home school) students will want to register with their home district to ensure that they will be able to register for classes or, in the case of home school students, have their curriculum and required documentation submitted in a timely manner.
In the Spring, Dr. Valdez will be spending a few classes to help review different course options, specific to Manheim Central High School, since the majority of students in 8th grade will be attending MCHS in the Fall of 2025. However, Dr. Valdez is willing to assist all students with their HS transition, regardless what their path looks like.
Any questions specific to your child's next step, please do not hesitate to reach out.
