We are using the BSLA method of teaching reading now. It is a structured apporach that teaches letter sounds and letter combinations in an organised sequence. The children read books that allow them to practise the new sounds and previously ones learnt as well. There will be more information added to this area by the end of February.
Please help your child by listening to them read each day. Help them work out words as they need it. It is also especially helpful for their learning if you talk about the book with them and discuss what they have read. You could ask some questions or get them to tell you the main points. They also still love you to read to them when you can :)
