It is recommended to pack your child an afternoon snack, as most clubs allow time to eat while students are filing in and attendance is being taken.
After School Program Coordinator is Jami Morrison; jmorrison@mandeljds.org.
Please note the dates of “No Class” for each activity. While most activities align with our school calendar, some activities run on a different schedule. Jami recommends adding the “No Class” dates to your personal calendar.
Is your child coming home with homework? Let us help you! During Homework & Hang students will have an opportunity to get their homework done at school with a teacher’s help! After homework is done, your child will have the opportunity to engage in an activity of their choice; magnetic tiles, LEGO, drawing, board games, and more.

Have you ever written a poem, lyrics, a funny idea, or a story and wished you could turn it into a real song? In Mandel Song Lab, students will work with Bobby Vaughn to write and record their own original song. Students will create lyrics, develop melodies, record vocals, and leave with a finished recording to share with family and friends. No musical experience is required. Students may bring their own ideas or develop them during class. Depending on the project and available time, students may also have the opportunity to add additional instruments, percussion, sound effects, or other creative production elements. Each 5-class session is a complete standalone songwriting and recording experience. Students may register for one, two, or multiple sessions throughout the year. No previous participation is required.

Students will learn foundational techniques including proper stance and movement, punches, kicks, footwork, partner drills, basic grappling concepts, and self-defense skills—all taught in a controlled, respectful setting. Alongside the physical and fitness aspects of training, we emphasize respect, teamwork, cooperation, self-control, and good sportsmanship. Whether your child is new to martial arts or has previous experience, every student will be encouraged to learn, grow, and support one another in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
