A message from Principal Vinten

Good Evening Manara STEM Families,

We are excited to welcome some new staff members on our campus this week!  Please help me welcome Ms. Daqrouq - Pre-K 3 Aide, Ms. Goodson - Kindergarten teacher joining Ms. Dormier, and Ms. Melia - Sped teacher joining our Sped team.  I'm excited to add more great teachers to our team!

If your child in grades 3-8 have not paid for their Chromebook deposit, please do so this week.  We are super close to being the first campus to have all our scholars with their Chromebooks, which means we are close to earning 5 free dress down days for the entire campus!  If you need help filling out the form on our website, please let me know.  I am happy to help you complete the order form.

Report cards were handed out on Friday, September 22 for scholars in 1st-8th grades.  If you have any questions regarding your child's progression, please reach out to their teacher.  Student-led conferences will be held November 6-10 after the 2nd 6 week period has completed, but if you are wanting to discuss grades and progression prior to that, let the teacher know.

Have a great rest of the weekend!  Happy 1st day of Fall!  Enjoy the sunshine!

The mission of Manara Academy is to provide students with a creative, adaptive and ethical environment to become knowledgeable inquirers and future leaders in a diverse and evolving global society where we master languages, honor cultural heritages, and respect diversity.

North Texas Giving Day - Thank you!

Thank you to all the families who supported our school and district during North Texas Giving Day!  We appreciate all the time and support all our families give.  We continue to get stronger as a campus and district with support from our families.  You are all appreciated!

Welcome to the Team!

Please help me welcome some new staff members to our team!

As we continue to grow in numbers with scholars & families, we also will continue to grow with our educational team!  I'm excited to have these ladies as a part of our STEM team!  They are a great addition to our staff and will bring lots of great educational knowledge to our scholars!  Welcome to team STEM!

Uniforms - IMPORTANT!

All students should be in uniform.  Uniforms can be purchased through the French Toast website (link is here and also on the HOME page of this newsletter).

Any scholars not in uniform will initially be given a warning and parents will be notified.  After three uniform violations, a scholar will be given detention on a Friday from 1pm-4:00pm.  After the first detention, if uniform violations continue to occur, an in-school suspension will be given.

Detentions will begin this week if necessary.

Dress Down Days

This Friday, September 29, will be a dress down day for scholars.  Scholars who would like to dress out of uniform can pay $1.00 to wear non-uniform clothing on this day.  All non-uniform clothing must be school appropriate, and if not, scholars will call home for their uniform to be brought to school.  If a scholar does not bring in money for the dress down day, he/she will call home for you to either bring them their dollar, or bring them their uniform clothing.

Reach out to your scholar's teacher if you have any questions regarding dress down days!  Don't forget the $1.00!
