Into the Macro World

Macro Photography: The Ability to See the Unseen (click the caret to read more)

The world around us is filled with tiny moments of beauty that, in our fast-paced lives, we pass by and overlook. Macro Photography involves photographing using a lens that can achieve very near focus and shallow depth of field, as well as a long focal length. This means the photographer can capture textures, tiny subjects, and the otherwise unseen in great, up close and in sharp detail. I dove into macro photography this year, inspired by scientific photographer Felice Frankel, and realized there's a true magic to looking through the viewfinder of a camera equipped with a macro lens. It completely transforms your perspective, and unlocks a new universe to explore.
