Prerequisite: Credit Recovery Only

Students who have received an unsatisfactory grade in the corresponding English class during the regular school year may repeat it in summer school.

These courses focus on three areas of English: language, literature, and composition. The emphasis in language is on developing and improving vocabulary, grammar, and mechanical skills. In literature, students are exposed to the various literary genres and work on reading, understanding, and discussing pieces of literature. The focus in composition is on developing strong sentence writing, paragraph writing, and longer and more complex writing, along with strong research skills.
