Read the St. Mary's Handbook
Download the SML Student Handbook, and save a copy to your computer as a PDF. Once saved as a PDF, enter your information on each fillable form/page. Ensure you fill out each form/page completely and sign and date where appropriate. All forms must be fully completed or they will not be accepted!
NOTE: The information you need to fill out in the forms are included in the clinical placement emails sent to you, or is in your MaineStreet.
Pay close attention to the ID Badge Record & Vehicle Information Form --- You MUST use your maine.Edu email as your preferred email. Your total # of placement hours are 56.
Submit the handbook with all completed forms to the School of Nursing through the Clinical Paperwork Submission Google Form
COMPUTER TRAINING: St. Mary's will use information from the SML Education forms to create your computer credentials. You will receive an email from the St. Mary's Education Coordinator (check your maine.edu spam folder) with your St. Mary's IT Access Log In/Access information & Instructions for EPIC EMR Training before the clinical starts. You will do the requested EPIC proficiency test/computer training once you receive the login information. This MUST be completed before your clinical starts, and it is tracked by St. Mary's. It should take you around an hour.
PARKING: Parking information and the parking form are included in the SML Education form.
BADGING: St. Mary’s will use info from your SML Education form, the "ID Badge Record & Vehicle Information" page to create your badge. Be sure to enter your Maine.edu email in the Preferred Email line on this page. You will get the Student ID badge on your first day of clinical and must return it to St. Mary's on the last day of clinical.
COVID SCREENING: TBD/TBA if applicable. Please be sure you know your N95 Mask Size from your USM approved Fit Test. If you've Never been Fit Tested by USM, you will receive an email closer to the semester starting for Fit Test scheduling.
EYE PROTECTION & PPE: Students must BRING their own eye protection (safety glasses or face shield) to clinical each day. St. Mary's will provide all other PPE.
CLINICAL LETTER FROM FACULTY: Information about where to go and what to bring on the first day of clinical will be shared by your instructor in the course Brightspace a week or so before the clinical begins.
CCPS: There is no CCPS for St. Mary's.
