Dance Studio & Black Box Reservations

Dance clubs and personal pieces are eligible to reserve rehearsal time in the Polly Thomas Dance Studio in Class of 1944 Hall. Reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis to Dance Clubs, Personal Pieces, and approved Guest Choreographer Pieces, after the semester’s dance classes have been scheduled. Following the scheduling of Dance Clubs, Personal Pieces, and Guest Choreographers, other students who are not planning to audition for the Showcase, or not eligible to audition.

In order to fairly allocate the limited time available, the amount of time available for each type of piece is limited as follows.

Dance Clubs:

Dance clubs are allotted up to two hours per week for club meetings. Dance clubs may also reserve an additional one hour per week for club officers to plan and/or choreograph.

Personal Pieces / Guest Choreographer Pieces:

Pieces that are choreographed by groups or individuals separately from a club may reserve one hour of rehearsal time per week.

Non-Showcase Reservations:

Students may occasionally or regularly wish to reserve studio time to rehearse content from a course, or a “just for fun” piece of choreography. These reservations are limited to a maximum of one hour per week and are available only after regular weekly reservations have been set up for pieces that are preparing for the showcase auditions.
