Follow these steps to access your Form I-9:
Legal Requirement: Verify Your Employment Eligibility
Under the provisions of the Immigration and Reform and Control Act of 1986, you must provide the University with verification through original documents that you are either a citizen of the United States or an alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States. Verification of eligibility must be completed on or before your effective date of employment. Please review the list of acceptable I-9 documents and instructions.
Steps to Complete the Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9) Form:
Complete Section 1
Log in to MyCampus and from your Launchpad, navigate to: MaineStreet HR > Employee Self-Service > Personal Details > Form I-9.
Fill out Section 1 of the form
Verify Your Documents (Section 2)
After completing Section 1, contact Human Resources at umf.hr@maine.edu to schedule an in-person meeting to complete Section 2.
You must present your I-9 documents in person on or before your official start date.
Important Deadlines:
If the start date on your appointment letter is Monday through Friday, you must visit the Human Resources Office on your first day.
If your first official day is on a Saturday or Sunday, you must visit the Human Resources Office before you begin work.
Failure to verify your I-9 documents by the end of your first official workday will result in an inability to work until the verification process is completed.
