• I have tried this method before for both Science and Reading classes. My inquiry focuses on how collaborative book projects can enhance reading comprehension, critical thinking, and presentation skills. 

• By guiding students in this process, I aim to assess the effectiveness of team-based literary analysis and the impact of creative expression on their understanding of texts. Through this inquiry, I will also reflect on best practices for fostering  appreciation for reading among students.

Learner Inquiry Project: Book Fair

Project Overview: Students will work in teams to select a book and create an engaging, informative project to present at the Book Fair. This project will showcase their reading experience, analysis, and creative expression.

Project Components:

1. Book Selection & Proposal

   • Teams will choose a book that aligns with their interests and reading level.

   • Submit a short proposal explaining their choice and key themes.

2. Visual Display Board

   • Collaborate to create a display featuring the book cover, summary, author biography, key themes, and favorite quotes.

   • Use visuals, creative design, and interactive elements.

3. Creative Component

   • Develop a creative representation of the book (e.g., artwork, diorama, digital media, character interview, or a short dramatization).

   • Ensure all team members contribute to the creative process.

4. Book Review & Reflection

   • Each team will write a one-page book review discussing strengths, weaknesses, and personal impact.

   • Reflect on why others should read the book.

5. Book Fair Presentation

   • Present the project at the Book Fair as a team.

   • Engage visitors with the display and creative component, ensuring all members participate in discussions.

Assessment Criteria:
