Hello! My name is Abigail and I am a first year graduate student in the University of Maine's English Department. I also hold a Graduate Teaching Assistantship so each semester I teach a section of ENG101: College Composition. I graduated from UMaine in May 2023 with a major in English concentrating in creative writing and a minor in Marketing. Although I grew up in Damariscotta, Maine, I fell in love with the Orono area and moved here right after graduation.

In my free time you can find me riding horses, baking, playing video games, and pavloving my cat into using his scratching post (this will not backfire on me at all). I also enjoy fussing over my excessive number of houseplants!

I started tutoring in the writing center in 2023. Though I specialize in creative writing, I love working with writers from all disciplines!

As a Writing Center consultant, I aim to help you develop an understanding of your relationship to an audience in order to choose the stylistic and rhetorical tools that best serve your purpose in writing and effectively negotiate academic conventions.
